ABOUT CASEY


Casey Buscher is currently a sideline reporter for ESPN+ based in Dallas, Texas. Additionally, Casey serves as a sports content creator, covering athletes, games and sporting events.

At a young age, Casey fell in love with sports and they have been her life ever since. Casey has always had a driven personality and a self-starter approach with a passion for storytelling.


CASEY’S STORY


In May of 2018, Casey graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Electronic Media & Communication with a minor in Public Relations and a concentration in Sports Media. She interned for Texas Tech Athletics in 2016-2018, FOX34 Lubbock as a news intern, the Washington Redskins as a Communications Intern in 2017, worked for the Dallas Mavericks Basketball Academy as a coach, the Texas Rangers as a Promotions Assistant in 2016, and served as a videographer and interviewer for the Double T Insider on Fox Sports Southwest.

As an Athletics Communications Intern for Texas Tech Athletics, she worked for the Big 12 Conference at the 2017-18 Men’s & Women’s Basketball Championships and Baseball Championship in Kansas City and Oklahoma City. She developed a passion for storytelling and broadcasting through her experience with Tech Athletics then began working for MCTV as a Sports Reporter & Anchor at the College of Media & Communication.

Casey began freelancing for ESPN and Fox Sports as a Stage Manager and Talent & Official Statistician during her undergraduate career. She worked with some of the best sports broadcasting professionals in the world: Maria Taylor, Jenny Taft, Jay Bilas, Holly Rowe, Dan Shulman, Fran Fraschilla, and many more. She was able to work various Dallas Cowboys games, two ESPN College Gamedays, and the Armed Forces Bowl for ESPN in 2016.

After graduation in May 2018, Casey decided to continue her education at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University to pursue her Master’s of Science in Broadcast & Digital Journalism with an emphasis in Sports Communications. Casey has worked as an MMJ for NCC News at Syracuse from July 2018 to 2019. Producing, editing, filming, and conducting her own packages. In 2018, Casey worked as an Anchor and Reporter for Mornings on the Hill, a live morning show at Newhouse.

During Casey’s time at Syracuse, she worked in the Digital Media department for Syracuse Athletics as a Feature and Sideline Reporter. Producing content for the athletics department’s digital platforms and CUSETV. She interviewed players, coaches, and alumni for digital content. Casey pitched story ideas, produced, edited, and created her own content for athletics. She also hosted Instagram and Snapchat stories for Syracuse Athletics with over 55k followers. She also was a Sports Intern for CNYCentral, the CBS, NBC, and CW affiliate in Syracuse, New York.

Casey worked as a Sideline Reporter and Analyst for the ESPN ACC Network Extra Basketball, Field Hockey and Volleyball broadcasts at Syracuse. Casey concluded her Master’s degree from Syracuse as a Sports MMJ & Digital Reporter at WPRI and FOX Providence in Providence, Rhode Island from July to September 2019 covering the New England Patriots Training Camp and Preseason.

Casey’s first full-time job in television was as a Sports Anchor and Reporter at FOX West Texas from September 2019 to October 2020 covering high school sports, Texas Tech, ACU Athletics, Hardin-Simmons, McMurry, and various games and teams across central Texas. She also covered the 2020 MLB NLCS and World Series in Arlington, Texas.

From 2020 to 2022, Casey served as the Sports Director at KSBY News in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara, California covering Central Coast sports, Los Angeles, and San Francisco teams. She looks forward to telling great stories about student-athletes, fans, and coaches across the central coast.

From 2022 to 2024, Casey served as the Team Reporter and Director of Digital and Social Media for the Dallas Wings.

Now Casey resides in Dallas, serving as a sideline reporter and sports content creator.
